Seeing builders in Minneapolis pushing for 200 lf of crown in a day, paint-grade, tight copes, 1/32" reveals, and I’m quoting $75/hr or about $10/lf with caulk and sand included. Are you getting higher for clean finish work right now, and are GCs leaning day rate or per-foot where you’re?
I’d bump ‘$10/lf’ to $12–$14 with 1/32" reveals; per-foot beats day rate.
At $10/lf with “1/32" reveals” and tight copes, I’d set a $600 min and add $25 per corner/return — 200 lf in a day is fine, but corners eat the clock. If a GC insists on day rate, I cap production and put overage/punch on T&M so the finish doesn’t get sloppy — — @OP are these mostly 8–9’ ceilings or any 10’+ and stairs, because I upcharge for ladder/scaffold runs.
At “200 lf in a day,” I’d price $12/lf base, +$2/lf over 9’ ceilings, and a $75 per-room setup — tight copes and that tiny reveal chew time. Spring in Minneapolis moves MDF, so I bake in a next-day punch instead of T&M. You seeing many stair runs or tall walls on these?
